"Chess is the gymnasium of the mind"

There are many benefits to playing chess, and every individual has different reasons for playing the game. Whether you like the logic behind the moves, take pleasure in thinking through a combination, or just love board games as an entertaining way to pass the time (I do!), chess is the right game for you; and The Fox Cities Chess Club is the right place for you.

Serving the Fox Valley and other local communities, the Fox Cities Chess Club meets and is an informal place where one of all levels can gather, socialize, and play a few recreational games. It doesn't matter if you're not sure exactly how the knight moves, if your kid sister demolishes you every time you play, or if you have competed in tournaments before! The Fox Cities Chess Club invites you to join!

Meetings are open and free to the public!

Now you can invite our members and other chess enthusiasts, with connections to the Fox Valley, to add photos, stories, discussion threads, or resources in an easy way, our goal is to facilitate collaboration and sharing of techniques and passion between members.

We recommend that anyone interested in chess in the Fox Valley join our wiki. Once you have created your username and password all you have to do is sign in whenever you visit and there magically appears on the page options for adding, deleting, changing, etc. pages and text. The other benefit to joining is getting emails letting you know when changes have been made to the site and what they were. Pull up a chair, grab a coffee, and explore the site. We will be updating daily.

Rest your fears! We welcome all skill levels!
